Chilled Lemon & Mint Foot Soak
This is a remarkable "pick-me-up", especially for tired, overworked or hot feet. It can be prepared up to 24 hours ahead and chilled before use, too.
Ingredients
1/2 cup baking soda
1 lemon, thinly sliced - reserve a couple of slices for foot bath
1 bunch of fresh mint, finely chopped
Equipment
Small bowl
12" square of cheesecloth or a large coffee filter
rubber band or string
Foot bath
Instructions
Loosely pack sliced lemons and chopped mint in a square of cheese cloth or a coffee filter and secure with a rubber band or string. Place in a small bowl with hot water and steep the "sachet" for 5 minutes. (If making in advance, leave the sachet in the bowl and refrigerate for up to 24 hours.)
Fill a foot bath with cool water, and swirl in baking soda. Add lemon-mint "tea" squeezing the sachet to remove as much as possible. Add reserved lemons, and soak feet for ten minutes. (Note: you can also use the sachet for a gentle scrub.)
